Safer conversations on Velyra

A mutual Like can make a call available, but it does not prove a person’s identity or make every conversation safe. You decide what to share and whether to answer.

Mutual interest before calls

Voice and video calls require mutual Likes, eligible accounts with confirmed emails, and enabled call privacy for both members. You can decline a call even after matching. Turn off incoming calls or block a member’s calls from Call settings if you do not want further invitations.

Email confirmation has limits

A confirmed email address means the member completed an email check. It does not certify their legal identity, photos, age claims, occupation or intentions. Take time to assess a conversation and be cautious if another person pressures you to move quickly.

Control your camera and microphone

Joining a browser call requires permission to use your microphone and, for video, your camera. You can mute the microphone, turn off the camera or end the call. A blank remote video area may mean the other participant has not joined or has disabled their camera.

Protect your personal information

Browser calls let you speak without exchanging a phone number. Avoid sharing passwords, verification codes, financial account details or your exact address. Do not send money because someone you met online describes an urgent problem. Meet at your own pace and keep boundaries clear.

AI and translation can make mistakes

AI suggestions and automatic text translation may miss context, tone or meaning. Ask the other person to clarify something important. Calls currently transmit audio and video without live speech translation, so both participants should agree on how they will communicate.

If something feels wrong

End the conversation or call when you feel uncomfortable. Call blocking applies to calls; it should not be assumed to block every other interaction. If there is an immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Velyra is a dating service, not a medical, therapy or emergency service.
